This film is known as a 'Classic' and for good reason. Director Delmer Daves makes a fine job of telling the story of a hard-up rancher Dan Evans (Van Heflin) who holds captive an outlaw Ben Wade (Glen Ford) in the hope of collecting the $200 reward. Meanwhile Wade's henchman try to rescue him. The story plays out as a cat and mouse game to great effect with plenty of gun-toting action from both sides. |
